Show notes

In this episode of the Digital Construction Podcast, we welcomed Ben Byrnes to discuss his transition from a BIM technician to a technical sales consultant. Ben shared insights into his career journey, beginning with a structural drafting apprenticeship and working on significant projects like Metro Martin Place. He described this as a 'classic career of BIM technician'. Ben explained his move away from drafting and modeling, which was his first true love. The opportunity in technical sales arose, and despite initial nerves about being in front of people, particularly as someone who considers himself more technical and potentially introverted, he took the chance. Ben believes his experience in BIM gives him an advantage, enabling him to understand technical jargon and the struggles clients face because he's been on the other side.
